Rurban by Roots Studio Drop 2
Rurban by Roots Studio’s new collection, BOK JOY, showcases the brilliance of Indigenous craft and regenerative agriculture in what we wear. In August 2023, Roots Studio brought clothing from Noah, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Triple Five Soul to be reimagined by three Indigenous villages in Asia. There, partner artists incorporated cotton grown from their soil and dyed pieces from locally farmed indigo and mountain water. Additional Roots Studio artists used a combination of woodblock printing and traditional Indian hand embroidery. Other sustainable aspects of this collection include biodegradable fabrics such as milk and sugarcane shirts and scarves, and buttons made out of coconut shells and recycled plastic.
