It is drawn by Lado Bai, a Bhil artist based in Central India. Lado Bai is a senior artist and she has got many prizes for her art-form. She choose to do a full time job as an artist at the State tribal museum.
The Bhil tribe is an ethnic group inhabiting the Western part of Central India. Well over 1.5 million live as marginal farmers in almost 2000 villages. The members of the Bhil tribe possess a vast array of rich customs and traditions. Their "pointilist" tradition is inspired by the kernels of maize—the Bhil’s staple crop—each group of dots have multiple layers of symbolism. The Bhil community strongly worships nature and thus, the forest is a popular motif in Bhil artwork. Stories, prayers, ancestors, memories and traditions are skillfully painted into a symphony of multihued and rhythmic dots.
