These are designs found on a Tonkonan, the Traditional Ancestral House of the Toraja tribe in Sulawesi, Indonesia. A Tongkonan is typically accompanied by grain storages, These structures are charged with many other ritual and symbolisms, some of which can be read through the carvings. Together, the Tongkonan and rice grains represent a cosmos, a gem of ancient urbanism.
